COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Kep Gardens has built a strong relationship with the local community built over several years. From attending weddings and funerals, memorial ceremonies, rice blessing ceremonies and religious celebrations at the 2 local pagodas we have met and made many Cambodian friends. Once we are set up for volunteer teachers to live here, they will have a wonderful opportunity to become involved in the local community and learn about the Cambodian culture.

Kep Gardens sponsors many local events:

Kep Water Festival - December each year.  We sponsor the Kampong Tralach village boat every year.

Kep Music Festival - February each year.  A new event featuring local and overseas artists held on the beach at Kep.

Boxing Tournament - special event.  Boxing is a popular sport in Cambodia.

Rice Blessing Ceremony - Every year after the rice harvest.

Volleyball Competition - Held at Kep Gardens every Khmer New Year.

Jungle Marathon - Cambodian style triathlon.

Various music bands when appearing at local guesthouses.
